Q: How does TrueClot work?
A: TrueClot is a safe, non-biological fluid that mimics clotting when mixed with our Simulated Hemostatic Gauze or Clotting Solution. The simulated clots that are formed are safe, non-hazardous and very realistic. Please see our How to use TrueClot page for more information on using TrueClot.
Q: Where can TrueClot be purchased?
A: Currently you may purchase TrueClot using our online store or, if you need to place a large order, get a quote, ship outside of the USA or set up a purchase order you can contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Does TrueClot stain skin or clothing?
A: TrueClot will leave a red coloration on skin that will wash clean with soap and water. TrueClot washes from most clothing with a simple soak in soapy water (as demonstrated in this YouTube video). For small stains simply launder as normal. For larger stains or if the stain has dried, rinse excess TrueClot from the gament with warm, soapy water. Then soak in soapy water for 1-3 hours and launder as normal. White fabrics may be more difficult to launder if the stain has dried. Laundering white fabrics with dilute bleach solution will usually remove the stain.
Q: Is TrueClot safe to use on skin and live actors?
A: Yes, TrueClot is made from cosmetic and food grade materials. Do not place TrueClot in your mouth. Doing so is not dangerous but TrueClot is not flavored and is not intended to be ingested. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical attention if any irritation persists.
Q: Can TrueClot be used in medical simulators?
A: TrueClot has been tested on multiple high- and low-fidelity medical simulation platforms. TrueClot is well suited for use in task trainers through which simulated blood is designed to be delivered using a moulage pump, peristaltic or other liquid pump or a squeeze bottle. TrueClot is water soluble and will wash cleanly from tubing when flushed thoroughly with water. TrueClot has not been tested on all manikin/simulator platforms and may cause damage if improperly cleaned after use.
