Task trainer in use at Fairfax County (VA) Fire & Rescue Academy

TrueClot® has been used by many training contractors and first responder units to provide repetitive wound packing training. This allows development of proper packing technique as well as the “muscle memory” necessary to pack properly in a more stressful situation. The low-cost of TrueClot® Blood Simulant allows trainees to practice all of the mechanics of wound packing such as sweeping the wound, finding the source of hemorrhage, tearing open the gauze package with slippery, bloody hands, packing to the bone, maintaining constant pressure while packing, and holding direct pressure. The durability of TrueClot® laceration and gunshot wound task trainers allows many repetitions. When used together with TrueClot® Simulated Hemostatic Gauze, the simulation of dynamic clot formation is second only to live tissue training in realism.
