TrueClot® Blood Simulant Cleaning Instructions
TrueClot® Blood Simulant will leave a red coloration on skin that will wash clean with soap and water (bar soap works best). TrueClot® washes from most clothing with a simple soak in soapy water (as demonstrated in the videos below).
For small stains, simply launder as normal. For larger stains or if the stain has dried, rinse excess TrueClot® from the garment with warm, soapy water. Then soak in soapy water for 1-3 hours and launder as normal.
White fabrics may be more difficult to launder if the stain has dried. Laundering white fabrics for two cycles or washing with dilute bleach solution will usually remove the stain.
Warning: Do not ingest simulated clots or, Clotting Solution or Blood Simulant. If ingestion occurs, rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact with eyes does occur, rinse eyes liberally with water. Seek medical attention if irritation does not subside after rinsing.
TrueClot® Task Trainers and Wearable Trainers Cleaning Instructions
TrueClot task trainers should be cleaned and dried after use. If using TrueClot Blood Simulant, rinse excess Blood Simulant from trainer using warm water and remove any simulated blood clots that may have formed from inside the wound cavity (Wound Packing trainer.) Flush tubing with warm water until water runs clear. Let the trainer air dry thoroughly before placing in storage.
Disinfection instructions
Task Trainers
If the task trainers require disinfecting before being transferred to a new user, a variety of cleaning products may be used. The wound packing task trainers may be washed thoroughly with hot water and liquid soap or laundry detergent. The task trainers may also be sanitized by thoroughly spraying with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol), Cavicide or other similar disinfectants and letting the trainer air dry completely. Dilute bleach solution (10%) may also be used but the trainer should be thoroughly rinsed with water after bleach treatment.
Wearable Trainers
Wearable trainers may be washed thoroughly with hot water and liquid soap or laundry detergent. The trainers may also be sanitized by thoroughly spraying with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol), Cavicide or other similar disinfectants and letting the trainer air dry completely.
Do not use bleach-based sanitizers on the TrueClot Wearable Trainers as it may remove the color from the task trainer fabric.
