Wound Packing Training

TrueClot® has been used by many first responder departments and training companies to provide repetitive wound packing training. This aids development of proper packing technique as well as the “muscle memory” necessary to pack properly in a stressful situation. The realism of TrueClot® Blood Simulant allows trainees to practice all of the mechanics of wound packing such as sweeping the wound, finding the source of hemorrhage, tearing open the gauze package with slippery, bloody hands, packing to the bone, maintaining constant pressure while packing, and holding direct pressure. The durability of TrueClot® laceration and gunshot wound task trainers provides thousands of repetitions. When used together with TrueClot® Simulated Hemostatic Gauze, the simulation of dynamic clot formation is second only to live tissue training in realism.
